As more and more clients wants to get fuller control to their content, I used to offer them the ability to use the best content management system ever, based on blog administration systems, like the ones included in Wordpress or Moveable Type solutions. Easy to deploy and affordeable, their require low skills on Php language and scripting, though they require much more ability to adjust, redesign and know-how in using front-end technologies like CSS or Javascript. And when a very specific request is requiring a developer, like raising the poor security level of a Wordpress site, the blogs’ documentation is always helpful and save us hours.

To even more accelerate the deployment of the blog, I used pre-designed theme that I remix. Remixing is not only relooking, but also consisting on adding all features that the clients wants that blogs generally does not provides. Here are few examples on fully content/design integration based on a Free fair use Wordpress theme. Most of their original theme authors were impressed and promoted the initiative.

leluxe.asia (2007-2009) — leluxe.asia uses Wordpress 2.7 intensively. Formerly host on Blogger’s Blogspot, the transition was easy. We obtain a very interesting site, quickly updateable, and using full functions of the multi-user profiles of the diferent contributors — from simple redactor to editor.

lesfoodingues.com (2008) — when a site must be online in no-time, without any specification on the visual and brand, using a scalable system like wordpress enables to get in action and make things done without all elements. From such basis, content can be available for visitors while the website can be adjusted and improved permanently without questionning its stability or core structure.

ijoi.net (2008) — Creating a magazine/blog is possible, thanks to the large possibilities in using Wordpress administration and templates. With more than a hundred-planned video interviews, ijoi uses a specific way to host, manage and deploy the videos. The use of specific plugins were appreciated.

gabyu.com (2009) — Originally from a 100% static website, my personal site turn into a blog when the framework enabled it to be scalable. This site is a whole playground. Again, made in short time.
